The Pardue Loft
The Pardue Loft, with its center-front location, is named for James H. Pardue, a well-known resident of Saratoga, who built the Algonquin in 1893. Originally a carriage maker, Pardue later sold china wares in the southernmost corner of his new building. Because of his great admiration for the fearlessness and bravery of the Algonquin Indian Tribes, he named the building after them.

The Leary
“Apartments to let – One cool, modern. The Algonquin,” So advertised Algonquin owner James A. Leary, in the Daily Saratogian circa 1910. Leary, who purchased the Algonquin in 1907, was the first to renovate the building into a modern apartment house. The Pavilion Penthouse
The Pavilion Penthouse, with its floor-to-ceiling arched windows and rooftop deck, affords the most magnificent view of the entire Broadway area. Once known as “the Pavilion Estates”, this block from Lake Ave. to Ellsworth Jones is where the famous Pavilion Hotel, and its little sister the Covent Garden House, frequented by the more affluent of society in the first half of the 19th century, was situated before it burned down and was rebuilt on the other side of Broadway.
